Roots-Climbing is a throw back to the 80's and 90's, but with both eyes on the future. Our passion is in developing boulders and establishing new areas.
While we embrace the modern indoor scene, we are principally a wilderness brand. We like rocks, searching for rocks and being outside. The Culm Coast and Exmoor are our favourite bouldering areas.

We are also happy to give up climbing time for hangboarding and questing, and many significant discoveries have been made.
To this end, Roots-Climbing has been involved in several guide books over the years, the most recent being the book, Quarry Life, Forest of Dean Bouldering, this was followed by Forest Blocks. We also developed the Edge Progression training method and the ideal hangboard to work from.
Not limited to the Forest, our chief designer put up a few problems on the Culm Coast, long before it was fashionable, though the search there is mostly a soul filling exercise and power test, a place where you can wander at will and everything feels like a discovery. 
The Forest has been the principle hunting ground for a few years now and this page is dedicated to these developments and some Culm bouldering action, as lets be honest the problems there are generally world class.
